REGONDA (WARANGAL): It looked like Chiranjeevi was back to his good old days of film world, albeit briefly. The supporters present there were all
pumped up and the farmer-friendly Chiru was more than willing to dance to their tunes. Except that it wasn't a scene from his films, but a a cotton field in Rupireddypalli village in this mandal — where his histrionics were in full flow on Monday.

The Prajarajyam party chief during the second leg of his Praja Ankita Yatra in Warangal district stopped at the cotton field and interacted with the farmers, much to the delight of the passers-by and some of the farmers themselves. They lustily clapped when Chiranjeevi said the farmers' problems could have easily been overcome had the governments worked with dedication, taking a dig at YSR's 'pro-ryot' mantra.

The ryots went gaga when the star politician alleged that the government was neglecting serious issues like spurious seeds, pesticides and fertilizers that have forced the farmers lose their crops in a large extent.

He alleged that though the government had announced an MSP of Rs 3,000 per quintal of cotton, the farmers are getting only Rs 2,000.

"Who is to blame? The middlemen are taking away the remaining amount and forcing the farmers into a debt trap," he hollered evoking an instant applause from the farmers. "The fertilizer supply has gone haywire as the ruling party leaders have diverted them to their followers," he alleged.

When a woman farmer, P Radha, complained that she sustained injuries in the police lathicharge when she went to get the fertilizers at Regonda mandal headquarters recently, the new 'messiah of the farmers' promised her that all her woes would vanish once the Prajarajyam party is elected to power in the 2009 general elections.

"Wait for another four months and all your problems would be wiped out," he thundered amidst cheers from the farmers.

Another farmer, Nagapuri Vijaya, urged the actor-turned-politician to come to the power and solve their problems. Responding to her demand, he said that he entered politics only to solve their problems.

As the actor's convoy sped past, Vijaya had only tears of joy. "I have interacted with the megastar and am too overwhelmed to say anything. I only hope he would do something for us," she said.

Earlier, addressing a road show meeting at Parkal, Chiranjeevi turned emotional and blamed the Congress for lacking clarity on the separate Telangana state issue."Some people are demanding me to make my stand clear on the Telangana state issue. I have clearly stated that I support the formation of the separate Telangana in tune with the aspirations of the people of the region," Chiranjeevi said, taking a dig at the Congress leaders.

Making the much-awaited announcement which is all set to impact the political equations in Andhra Pradesh before the 2009 assembly polls, Chiranjeevi has, however, lobbed the T-ball into the Centre's court. At a gathering in Jagityal on Friday, he said his party won't oppose the formation of separate Telangana if the bill was moved by the Centre. Chiranjeevi said the people of the region were in favour of a separate state. "But it's for the Centre to take a decision and our party won't be an obstacle to its formation," he said amid cheers from the crowd during the second leg of his road show in the Telangana heartland. According to political analysts, Chiranjeevi has chosen Jagityal to make the announcement since it falls under the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency represented by TRS strongman K Chandrasekhar Rao. He said the Telangana region suffered decades of neglect by successive governments.

Amid cheers from the large gathering, the megastar said he would spell out his party's stand on the statehood issue before completion of his present leg of tour.

"I will not leave Telangana without spelling out my stand on the most-awaited issue," Chiranjeevi said. The second round of his Telangana tour/yatra would cover Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts over the next eight days in Telangana region.
Without naming any one, he hit out at political parties for exploiting the innocence of Telangana people for their advantage.
Chiranjeevi's tour in Telangana is keenly watched in political circles as his stand on the statehood demand is expected to impact the outcome of the next year's assembly elections.

Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi will take up the second phase of his Praja Ankita yatra on Oct 22 or 23 and tour Karimnagar or Warangal district for four or five days and end it before Deepavali.
The megastar himself revealed this when he inaugurated the party’s second office at Road No. 5 in Banjara Hills here today and asked party managers to make arrangements for the road show.
Party activities will, henceforth, be carried out from the new premises and the old office on Road No. 45 in Jubilee Hills will be used as a back office for the party president.
The three-storeyed building, built over an area of 30,000 sft, is spacious enough to conduct party activities.
Chiranjeevi said he was eager to mingle with people but his sore throat upset his tour. He said the people’s response he had received during his tour of north Andhra was more than expected. ‘‘Eventhough I felt tired, some force has made me to complete the tour. Now I am eager to resume my tour.
The second leg would be taken up in Telangana districts.’’ He assured that untoward incidents which took place in the first round of his tour would not be repeated as they were taking enough precautions.

Chiranjeevi Prajarajyam Party yatra will start from Surya devalayam in Arasavelli.

Vijaya Dasami has been preferred as the auspicious day for Prajarajyam chief Chiranjeevi to begin the "meet the people" yatra.
The first leg of the yatra, which is to begin on October 9, will cover the entire North Andhra region comprising Vijayanagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts. The date was announced by party spokespersons P Prabhakar and P Mitra on Wednesday( 01 Oct). In the meantime, C V Sesha Reddy, a senior Congress leader and PCC vice president, joined the Prajarajyam Party. Reddy who hails from Nellore district met Chiranjeevi on Wednesday morning at his Jubilee Hills residence and expressed his wish to join the party. Later, he was introduced to the media by Mitra. Talking to the media, Mitra said Chiranjeevi would visit the Arasavilli Sun temple and perform puja before undertaking his yatra in Srikakulam district. "He will tour the three districts continuously for nine days and take a break to come back to Hyderabad."

Chiranjeevi will visit Gangadevi Palle, a model panchayat in Warangal district on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

The self-determination systems developed in the village and "swaparipalana" (self rule) have attracted national attention. Chiranjeevi will study the self rule being practised in the village.

Before setting off for the village, Chiranjeevi will hoist the party flag at the party office as part of the "Vooroora Prajarajyam" week. Later, he will participate in the tenth anniversary of the Blood Bank run by his trust and donate blood on the occasion.

The Election Commission on Thursday gave green signal to allot the name of Prajarajyam to the regional party founded by Chiranjeevi. According to EC sources, a notification to this effect would soon be issued and the symbol would be allotted at the time of elections.
The registration of the party got delayed as an advocate from Kadapa district had applied for registration of a party by the same name. But, later, he withdrew his application at the behest of Chiranjeevi . The commission, after hearing the arguments of the representatives of Prajarajyam said that it had no objection in registering the name of the party as a state party. Chiranjeevi's aide Dr P Vinay kumar met the commission officials on Thursday.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is facing trouble just 2 days after he has launched his new political party 'Praja Rajyam' in Tirupathi on August 26,2008. as another man called Andhrite ChennaKeasava Reddy, a resident of Cuddapah district in Andhra Pradesh, has already filed an application before the Election Commission seeking to register his party in the same name.

The Election Commission sources said that CK Reddy has already filed his application nearly four months ago and the EC has also processed his application. The Commission also sent a reply to him. With CK Reddy's application pending, Chiranjeevi cannot name his party 'Prajarajyam'.
However, if ChennaKeasava Reddy withdraws his application, the trouble for Chiranjeevi could come to an end.

Megastar chiranjeevi, founder of Prajarajyam Party overcame number of hurdles for the launch of his party. Issues on his party's name 'Praja Rajyam' was resolved on Friday after V.Channakrishniah withdrew his objection. Advocate V Channakrishniah from LakkireddyPalli in Kadapa District had agreed to withdraw his application with the Election Commission posted for the registration of the party's name three months ago.

A letter for withdrawal of the application signed by V.Chennakirshniah was submitted to the Chief Election Commissioner, Praja Rajyam Party sources said. Chiranjeevi's plans for a grand political entry first ran into trouble when the Tirupati Urban Development Authority refused to grant permission for the public meeting to announce the launch of the party, citing a 2006 Supreme Court order.
However, the issue was resolved after the organisers approached the District Collector, who granted the permission. Then came a PIL by a Tirupati-based NGO seeking a ban on the August 26 meeting here, where he eventually announced the launch of his party. When the arrangements were in full swing at the meeting venue, the NGO, Intellectual Forum, sought the ban on the event on the grounds that the venue Avilata Tank area at the foothills of the historic temple town was a protected area.
However, Megastar Cheeranjeevi had the last laugh when the Supreme Court refused to stay the meeting. He also faced a personal loss when his long-time friend and actor, Hari Prasad died on August 17, the day when Chiranjeevi made announced his much-awaited political entry. Prasad, 55, died of heart attack when he was talking about his friend Chiranjeevi's political entry at a TV news channel office.

Film star Chiranjeevi unveiled his political party named 'Prajarajyam' in Tirupati on Tuesday. While addressing the huge crowd of supporters Chiranjeevi said,

"The new party will have social justice as its main agenda." Chiranjeevi said that he was very happy by the response of the people towards his decision of joining politics.

"I firmly believe in youth power and I am hungry to serve the people of my state," he said. He also thanked his supporters for coming in large numbers at the party launch and said that he knows the pulse of the public. Lakhs of Chiranjeevi fans poured in from all over Andhra Pradesh to listen to their star revealing the name and agenda of his party.

An eight-feet high huge dais had been constructed for the occasion, which comprised of big pictures of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, B R Ambedkar, Jyotirao Phule and a digital screen at the centre. Unlike many political meetings digital screens at strategic places, first aid clinics, fire engines, water packets and other amenities were arranged for the public. Over 2,500 security personnel including bomb disposal squads and dog squads were deployed at the venue to maintain order.

Telugu film Megastar Chiranjeevi on Sunday formally announced his entry into politics and also said that from now on he was dedicating his life to serve people.

Addressing a crowded press conference at his newly inaugurated party office at the Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, the actor said that he would announce the name and policies of his party at a public meeting on August 26 in the temple town of Tirupati.

Chiru said that he was joining politics to do more public service, he wanted to bring in a change and his outfit would be pro-poor and work for social justice.

Chiranjeevi did not agree that there was no political vacuum in the state. "If there was no political vacuum, we would not have seen this huge response. The vacuum is there in society and politics. People always look for change," he said and pointed out that the gap between the poor and the rich was widening.

Asked about his main political rival - Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy or Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu, he said, "I have no rivals in politics. My fight is with poverty and hunger."

With his first full-fledged interaction with media he said,"I am not into politics for the sake of posts or power but for the satisfaction and peace of mind. God has given me popularity and money. It can't tempt me".

He said that he had no political guru and that people were his political guru. When asked whether he was Leftist or rightist. Megastar said "I am humanist,"

Chiranjeevi, who has acted in over 200 movies, said that he was leaving the film industry with a heavy heart. "Politics will be my priority but I am not totally quitting acting. If a good and educative film which can serve society, I will definitely do it."

Megastar Chiranjeevi was born on 22 Aug 1955 in "Mogaltur", a small village in 'West Godavari' District in Andhra Pradesh to sri Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. He grew up in his native village with his grand parents, while his family was else where because of his father's occupation. The sense of descipline and hard work which he still embraces were introduced at a very young age in his life and the tough childhood he had being the eldest in his family have helped him to handle many such events of higher proportion with great expertise in the later stages of his life.

After completing graduation, Chiranjeevi moved to Chennai for acting in the Film Industry. He joined in an acting school in Madras. After struggling for some time, he got chance to act by appearing in small roles in films like "Pranam Karidu" and "Punadhi Rallu". Chiru from that modest beginning to this date, has acted in 148 films. All the way through his career he has faced a lot of ups and downs but every time he came back with extra perseverance and won people's hearts with wonderful performances in his films.

Megastar Chiranjeevi on Thursday (2nd October)launched the membership drive of his party Praja Rajyam by symbolically offering the first membership to a mentally challenged person.

Chiranjeevi took the second membership after registering Balakrishna as the first member of the party.

Megastar offered the third membership to Sobha Nagireddy, a former legislator, who quit the TDP to join Praja Rajyam Party.

The tenth anniversary of Chiranjeevi Blood Bank was also observed today.

The blood bank was started by Chiranjeevi with the aim of supplying blood to the needy. The initiative is a huge success since its inception, with lakhs of fans coming forward to donate blood.
