PARALAKHEMUNDI, Oct 12: Chiranjeevi mania has hit Paralakhemundi after the superstar passed through the neighbouring towns on Srikakulam sending the inhabitants into a tizzy.Thousands of star gazers from Kasinagar, Paralakhemundi, and Gosani waited for hours on the NH 5 passing through the bordering towns of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, as the Praja Rajyam Rath of the star turned politician passed. Many of the fans from this area had also gone to Srikakulam to be a part of the public meeting. Chiranjeevi fans here have started aspiring to contest elections under the Praja Rajyam banner notwithstanding the fact that the Telegu cinema star has till date focused on Andhra Pradesh.A newly elected councilor of Paralakhemundi municipality has already told his supporters to get ready to join Praja Rajyam.It may be mentioned here that there is a huge fan
following of the superstar in this town ex specially in the rural belts of the Paralakhemundi assembly segment, and a candidate contesting on the ticket of Praja Rajyam could mar the chances of fancied political parties because of the fan hysteria amongst the teenagers and the women folk.Chiranjeevi spent two days touring the rural belt of the Srikakulam District which has been a Telugu Desam strong hold and is adjacent to the Gajapati district with huge population of Oriya people residing in the villages of Tekkali, Mandasa, and Palasa about 40 km from here.
