News papers about Chiru Prajarajyam Party

EENADU ABOUT PRAJARAJYAM

•“A great pledge, a great war. Praja Rajyam. We have joined the war, victory is ours,” headlines screamed in Eenadu, Andhra’s leading Telugu daily owned by the media baron Ramoji Rao. In its edit, it wrote: “Chiranjeevi and his party seem to have given serious thought to various issues and then shaped the party agenda. A lot of hard work and thinking have gone into deciding the party’s line on contentious issues as well as the party name and flag. Chiranjeevi seems to have given priority to the word ‘Praja’ in his party name since he wants it to be a pro-people party. Chiranjeevi has made it very clear that he is not aspiring to coming to power but wants to serve the poor. He wants to enter politics with his honesty as the main qualification. He says happy Andhra Pradesh is his ultimate goal, which may help in unifying the state. He is handling the Telangana issue tactfully, saying that if it is inevitable the party may support it but not before considering the ground situation. He took a pledge to fight poverty and he may become the messiah for poor farmers.”
Andhra Jyoti ABOUT PRAJARAJYAM

•“With the sun on the party flag, Chiranjeevi is hoping to provide social justice. Considering his opposition to SEZs, Chiranjeevi, if he comes to power, may not allow more to come up in the state as he may not allow sale of lands of poor farmers. His opinion on Telangana is also interesting. On one hand he says it is a sensitive issue and needs to be dealt with after considering the ground situation, (but) he is quick to clarify that if the creation of a separate state is inevitable, then he will help in the smooth formation of the state. Chiranjeevi’s vow to strengthen local administration and create a special class of economically backward people is heartening. His vision of involving more women in administration and developing health care at village level is commendable.”

Sakshi ABOUT PRAJARAJYAM

•First show housefull. The paper owned by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s son Jaganmohan Reddy put a banner headline. But while all the other local dailies dedicated at least 80 per cent of the front page to the Chiranjeevi party launch, Sakshi carried a few photos on page one and turned the story inside. The paper reported in detail the party’s agenda, including his views on Telangana, SEZs, Naxalism, but commented that there is no clarity about the party’s stand on any issue.
Andhra Prabha ABOUT PRAJARAJYAM

•“He is hoping to bring light into the lives of millions of people who are poor and downtrodden.

The lakhs of people who thronged to see him launch his party leaves no doubt about his popularity. He has identified himself with the masses by saying he has made his way from ‘ganji’ to ‘Benzi’ (from rice gruel to Benz cars). By speaking in detail about his struggle since childhood, he has endeared himself to the millions of fans who braved the heat to be there for him."
